The Little Things That Make Me Happy

by Anna Nuttall

I’m a girl with simple taste, I’m not in big fancy dancy over the top things – well except if you’re going to book me a spa resort in the Maldives I won’t be complaining. But in honestly it’s the little things in my life that make me happy. So here are a few things that make me happy:

Browsing Pinterest:

Browsing Pinterest:

I love spending an hour in the evening or when I’m traveling on the train to have a good browse through Pinterest.  I personally think there is something rather therapeutic about pinning an image to your board.  It also quite satisfactory when seeing your own images get pinned onto other people boards. There is something wonderful about seeing the latest sparkly fashion couture gown or that cute little bunny picture, it’s to me a social media platform that makes me happy.

Sleeping:

the little things that make me happy

I love going to bed at night, people think I’m strange but I love going to bed. I love closing my mind and let my conscience wander and dream. I’m not a complete sleeping beauty however, I do suffer from insomnia and I often only ever sleep for no more then 2-3 hours a night. It drive me crazy! However I do love sleeping and waking up from a bizarre dream.

My niece sitting on my lap:

My little niece sitting herself on my lap while I read her a story, the best feeling in the entire world. For a while she pretty ignored me or got bad tempered while I was around, and I couldn’t understand why. So now she warming up to me and letting me read her a story makes me really happy. Gaahhh – so frickin cute.

Stroking/holding/playing with a puppy:

I’m showing you this picture again as it so frickin cute! This is a Maltese puppy and he was tiny (about 8-2 week old) and really sweet, for those who haven’t been following I’m going to get a puppy with my parents; It’d be a co-ownership between my parents and me. I went to see a breeder a few week ago to get a feel of the breed and to show my parents as they are in my decision making.

Here another picture to show you how tiny he was:

I think it’s important to take a moment during the day and to recognize the little things that make us happy every single day. So often we can get caught up in ever day mande life’s problems that we forget how lucky we are to experience the simplest and tiniest of things. So tell me.. what are some little things that make you happy?

Love this post! Sometimes we just need to take a minute and appreciate the little things, right? For me, it’s an afternoon with no chores and a good book!

The little things really do make up for the everyday madness. I love keeping busy, but whenever I can, I like to throw in a nap.

That is a seriously cute puppy. Not too sure about white for keeping the fur clean though.

Love this post, thank you. Yes, I agree, we need to appreciate the little things. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how blessed we are to have all the things we do. Appreciating them puts things in perspective.

I’m with you on the point of looking forward to sleep and just shutting out the events of the day and then there is this calming session that awaits. You are right about enjoying the simple things, we often take that for granted or think that to be happy we need to spend loads of cash. Great reminder that it’s just within our reach if we pause for a moment and appreciate it. Your niece is adorable!

Love your post! I’m quite stressed out lately. And thinking about things that make me happy is a good thing :)! Well, it’s actually a lot: My dog, my family, friendships, quiz night, drinking wine with friends, blogging, watching a good series. And definitely sleeping also haha!

Yes the little thing often make me happy too. I love spending time with my rescue dog just stroking her or going on log walks with her. If you can you should consider rescuing a maletese. I’ve seen some lovely ones in shelters. Much better than supporting greedy breeders 🙂

Whenever a person has little things to make him/her happy, that is good. As I started scrolling down, I thought the Maltese look so damn cute that it is hard for anyone not to feel delighted holding the little dog. And then there’s your niece, so move aside you dog. Anna’s niece takes first place. Of course you have both of them.

Simple pleasures like reading a book over some choco mint tea and cookies. Playing or sleeping with my baby. Cooking for my family. Baking for my boys. Driving my boys to school. Simple pleasures I love to do for my family.

I always admire people that find happiness in everyday life and in simple things, so kudos to you! They are simple but they really do put a smile on our face.
