I don’t think I have shown you my new hair have I? If you follow me on twitter you would have seen me having a little bit of a meltdown where I sort-of ‘f**ked-up my hair about a week ago now.
On a whelm I decided to ombre my hair, I always hated my natural hair colour, a dull mousey brownie brunette that doesn’t do anything for my complexion so I’ve been thinking of doing something with my hair as it was just lifeless. If you have a look of my last couples of ootd post or my last portrait picture post, you would have seen my old hair colour, not very exciting is it? So anyway I was pinterest and I was looking at the hair section and I was thinking to myself ‘ Oh my god, I could totally do that!’ so without a second thought I brought some Ombre colours and started to apply it (following instruction and making some time and space for myself obviously). The end result was not what I expected – I looked like a Tim Burton horror version of Rainbow Bright. That not all folks, I had to go into work the next day – yeah great! It was a red colour and on the box it look like a dark red but turns out on my bright red; the only thing I can think off is that my hair colour wasn’t compactable with it or I had some left over dye strand when I last coloured it a year ago.
So the next day I went to hairdresser and got it fixed and this was the colour I chose and I’m happy now:
Ta-da, this was the colour the ombre was suppose to be originally. The only thing now is keeping the colour is as long as possible as red never stay long in my hair. Oh well it will do for now.
So tips of the day kids, don’t ombre your hair on a whelm and leave it to a professional.

November 19, 2014If you want it to last longer, wash with cold water and colour protection shampoos, conditioner and oils!

November 19, 2014Hi Mary-Ann. I’m not sure about washing it in cold water – never been a fan of that. I also heard it last longer in cold water but I might invest in some colour protection shampoo and conditioner. xx
