Oh hello, June, where did you come from? Seriously how is it June already? I'm going to try and make the most of summer this year - despite everything else being rubbish. I'm going to enjoy myself and have fun in the sun. Sound like a good plan, doesn't it? ⠀

Oh hello, June, where did...

I must admit that I did get bored with balcony/mirror outfit pictures and wanted a more nature/organic photos backdrop. Well now summer is right around the corner, and the sun is indeed shining, and with news that lockdown resections are now easing, I now thought it was the perfect opportunity to go out into the wood and show you this floral Zara dress.⠀
I brought this dress at the very beginning of this year and was keen to show you guys this as I think it a lovely summer dress to wear, plus, I also thought it would go nicely with my red hat.⠀
For someone who has been cooped up, I must admit that it was nice to go into my local woodland and to walk around for an afternoon. I think it was also lovely for Richard, my husband, to pick up his camera again and to take some photos. The whole pandemic has put a pause on his professional photographer profession, and he hasn’t needed to use his camera much.⠀
It was lovely to put on a dress and to make myself look a little presentable. It got me out of my loungewear for an afternoon. The experience made me feel a little more like myself, and it put me in a good mood. As much as I like comfy loungewear, I’m still someone who wants to dress up.⠀
I’m hoping I can go out more this summer, of course still observing the social distancing rule, and doing more outdoor outfit photos. I’m also hoping this summer to wear more of my summer outfit and to feel more like myself.⠀

I must admit that I...

Usually, when I do an outfit post or picture, I like to dress up and show you some pretty dress. But this time I thought I would show you a few of my casual wear and what I wear on a day to day basis. I must admit, as much as I love to dress up, I wouldn't exactly go to Tesco in them. So on a day to day basis, I'm usually in jeans and a top. ⠀

Usually, when I do an...

If I were to describe my style, it would be summed up in two words: quirky and fun. I'm sure you realise by now I don't like boring black fashion – I do fun, bright, colourful style. Case in point is this Collectif watermelon dress. You can't get more quirky and fun fashion than this, can you?⠀
I like my clothes to reflect a lot of my personality, eternally youthful while also quirky and fun. Yup, that pretty much summed up me. The saying, you are who you are by the clothes you wear, really does hold up with me.⠀
I'm still that little girl who had a dressing up box as a child and would play dress-up; now I just have a wardrobe filled with more clothes than I could ever need as my dressing up box. I still like to have fun with my clothes, and I haven't lost that childhood wonder about clothes. And I don't think I ever will.⠀
Overall, what I'm saying is that this Collectif watermelon dress reflects who I am as a person and also my style. I also believe it represents how fashion shouldn't be all serious; it should be fun and should put a smile on a person's face.⠀

Blog Traffic | March 2017

Posted on

Now we are firmly into 2017, my March blog traffic is looking better and better. Here how I achieved my 18,000 page views this month.

If I was happy with my February result, then you can only imagine how I’m feeling right now with my March result.

March blog traffic

My March blog traffic went off like a rocket into some far off universe never to be seen again. Seriously March was my best ever result.

My top 5 most popular posts from March:

My most popular posts were all blogging advice and this make me so happy. It really nice that you are all enjoying my marketing & blogging posts. I enjoyed writing them and if I can share a little bit of my blogging knowledge with you – and if it benefits you in some small way. Then I’m a happy blogger!

March for me wasn’t a great month, for me I just wanted to get it out of the way as fast as possible. Nothing bad happen – just had problem with my other job. But it over and from the 1st April I will no longer be working with them.

While I was focus on here, 90% of my attention was on something else. However, my blog went off like an explosion into the night space. It just kept on climbing – it was just brilliant. Fantastic and I’m over the moon with how my blog exploded this month.

From April I’m able to give this my 100% attention so things are looking up and brighter every day.

How did people find my Blog?

My top 3 results came largely from Stumbleupon, Pinterest and Twitter:

Stumbleupon (SU):

SU was another fantastic and brilliant result. Those I didn’t give it my full attention, it still carried on going and giving me lots of lovely blog traffic.  It really helped pushed up my March blog traffic. Here how It can work for you.

It really simple. Every time I publish a new post I simple add it on SU and then stumble on a few pages. I also add my link (which has a SU button) to a few Facebook SU threads which allowed people to then add my site to their SU. So you get not only traffic from your own SU but from other people as well. Don’t just add your link and wait for the traffic to come as it more likely won’t.

Pinterest:

Pinterest was another amazing result this month. I noticed a big increased last month in term of blog traffic. This time I would consider march to be another solid good month. I still added all my blog pictures to appropriate boards and to Pinterest groups. I re-pinned various other images. Joined in with Pinterest Facebook groups and just re-pinned images that I liked.

I will be writing a tutorial on how you yourself can achieve such amazing result for your blog in the coming week.  I know I said that last time, but you know I was busy – this time I will do it.

Twitter:

Now that was unexpected and pleasant surprise. I focused on twitter this month and it had paid off. I found people were retweeting my blog links tweets, I had people even adding my blog links to their own twitter profile. My mentions were filled of people tweeting my new blog posts. This was amazing and I didn’t expect such lovely attention.  One thing I did do was post more on twitter and use the appropriate hashtags.  It well worth turning your attention to Twitter.

Organic searches:

My organic searches also climbed up this month. This is a brilliant result as I didn’t really focus on my SEO. What I did differently this month was to incorporate Google Keyword planner into my SEO strategy. It helped me find certain high leveled keyword that will be beneficial. If that sound confusing, don’t worry as I’ve written a tutorial.

To help you increase your site organic searches it might useful to read my post on how to make your blog more SEO friendly.

What didn’t work in March:

  • Blog links parties – that not to say it didn’t work but just not as well as I hoped. I still got traffic but just not a huge amount. I’m not sure if it works while keep adding my site to various blog links parties.
  • My personal Facebook traffic. It hard to know if my Facebook page is bringing in traffic, I will need to look into this.

Goals for April:

I’m actually not going to write any goals here, I’m useless at keeping goals so for now that is out of the window. I might think of some later.

And that was my March Blog traffic report. It was a bloody brilliant month and a big thank you so much for supporting me. It means the universe to me that my blog is doing so well and I couldn’t have done it with you – Thank you so much everyone.

Thanks for this, Anna. It’s always great to see when a blog takes off like this! Enjoy the success – as well as the freedom from a job which was obviously getting you down.

I’m back and forth about blog hops…and I host one! I’m doing a test this week, and probably for the next couple of weeks and cutting way back to see if it affects my views. Despite not doing it I’m still seeing growth (mostly through Pinterest).

Looks great! I have cut down my efforts on my Facebook page by 2/3 and haven’t lost any pageviews. Pinterest has become my main source although since the new algorythms there has been a drop off.

    Keep up the great work.

Wow! Very impressive results. I don’t know much if anything about StumbleUpon. I’ll have to do some work and figure out how to add it to my sharing repertoire.

I find pinterest and facebook are great for reaching people in my niche, and Twitter is great for connecting with other bloggers. Awesome that you got some traction on Twitter this month.

    Good luck in April!

I think the most important part in your growth is that you have started to receive search engine traffic. That means that Google is snowing your website to people more often, which is great!

StumbleUpon is one of my top, as well – and so is Yummly. Oddly, I don’t get much traffic from Pinterest (at least not as much as I would like). I’ll have to check out your tutorial on Google Keyword planner. I’d like to see my organic searches do better.

I think changes in the FB algorithm are making it hard for FB page users. It does make you wonder whether or not it is worth using it as a blogger. Interesting to see that Stumbleupon is a big traffic driver. I don’t think enough bloggers talk about the platform.
