Visiting what is dubbed, the most romantic city in the world is always good fun. So here are 5 reasons why to visit Paris.
I’ve been to Paris a few time, and I’m sorry to say this – but I never really enjoyed visiting the city. Paris just isn’t high on my list of places to visit in the world. However, Paris is a convenience to get to via the Eurostar. And if you go at certain times of the year, it can be lovely to walk around.
Last time I was in Paris, it was part of my Europe trip and we were only there for 24 hours. During that time, we walked all-round the Louvre, walked to the Eiffel tower where we got up close to it. We also basically walked all-round the city. I must say, my feet were killing me by the end of the day.
The previous time was for a day trip with my uni. Where we spent most of the day at various fashion museums. We were allowed some free time to roam the city, so my friend and I spent that whole time trying to find a restaurant that did chips. I’m not joking, we really wanted chips.
Anyway, if you never been and always wanted to see the city for yourself. Here are 5 reasons why to visit Paris.
It can be quite romantic:
If you go outside of ‘tourist’ seasons, it can be romantic to visit. I always find it peaceful to walk from the Louvre to Tuileries Garden, then along the bank of Seine. I also have known a few people who have proposed up on the Eiffel Tower. When Richard and I first met, the first few months into our relationship he whisked me away to Paris. So it safe to say, Paris still have that romantic quality people are still looking for.
A place to Visit for The Arts:
Every corner you turn, there is an art shop or a gallery. Don’t forget, the Louvre is probably one of the most famous art galleries in the world. There is an artist on every street selling their artwork and everywhere you turn there is always a piece of arts to see.
A place to go Shopping:
I mean, Paris is still the fashion capital of the world. You can stroll down to the classic Chanel boutique or perhaps wanders down all the various fashion stores all across the city. Everywhere you turn, there is always a place to do a little retail therapy.
A chance to brush up on your French:
I speak very little French but know enough to form a small conversation. So if you want to learn on how to speak French, then visiting Paris is the perfect opportunity.
It So Easy to Visit:
Just hop on the Eurostar and you be in Paris within 2 hours. Ok, admittedly it easier to do that if you are in London in the first place. But I never had a problem getting into Paris, whether you are going by plane or by train.
That was my 5 reasons why to visit Paris. Let me know if you have any to add to this list.
I want to go to Paris so badly, it looks amazing

Ugh Paris is at the top of my travel list and you just made me even more excited to visit
I didn’t really NEED five reasons why I should visit Paris, but I’m convinced that I need to go. Pinning this for reference later.
It’s been a while since I have been there and now I definitely want to go again!
Thank you for this list. My husband has been to France and he said he’d never visit Paris again because he didn’t feel like it was worth it compared to the countryside. I said the same thing about Rome. But I guess we’re just US country people that like foreign countrysides better than the tourist cities!
I totally don’t need reasons to visit b/c I already want to go so badly, but your 5 reasons have made me want to hop on a plane asap 🙂 The romantic and artsy aspects of Paris sound divine!
I live in London, I like the idea with the Eurostar I can be there in just 2 hours, really good to know I am planning my trip soon now thank you so much for this helpful tips. Cant wait to visit.
I love Paris, and in one week we visited 22 sights… it was a whirlwind week but now when I return, I pick my favorites and some new ones to visit. Thanks for sharing
Good sum-up with the essence of Paris, there are so many things to see & do in the City of Light! Perhaps, I would add something about French cuisine but this does not necessarily mean a Michelin rated restaurant. Thanks, Anna! 🙂
