With winter still dragging its heels and with the weather being so cold and miserable. Instead of going out – watch 4 nostalgic shows on Netflix.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’m so done with winter now. Especially after last week storm, as last week here in the UK – it was very windy. It was like being in a wind machine and feeling the full force on your face. For me that day I was travelling around and waiting for my train on a narrow platform – it was quite scary as the strength of the wind was so strong I felt like I could be blown away.
But as I said, I’m done with winter now – but the plus side of this wintery weather is having an excuse to have some Nextflix time!
Lately I have seen some shows on there that bring back childhood memories. You know the kind of childhood memories that make you feel all nostalgic and make you remember a pacific time in your life. Here an example, I use to love the Sweet Valley high (don’t laugh, stop laughing will you!) TV show while I was growing up and as I was a massive fan of the books. Recently I noticed that the whole show is on Youtube and It take me back to my Primary school days when I would bore my friends stupid about telling them everything about SVH.
Anyway as I was saying, Netflix are showing some of my favorites childhood shows, so I thought I would share them with you. As I think you be foolish not to miss these gem (get it – well you will in a sec!). *sigh* They don’t make telly like how they use. Here are 4 nostalgic shows on Netflix you need to watch.
She-Ra
For the honor of Grey-skull I am She-Ra! Who didn’t want to be She-Ra growing up? And who didn’t want a flying unicorn? I use to watch this on Saturday morning while having breakfast in bed. It was just a fun cartoon to watch when there was nothing else on the telly. Even at a young age I do remember myself somehow rooting for the bad guys, who else was like that?
He-Man
You can’t have She-Ra without He-man. I include this on the list as it something for the guys. They use to show He-Man and She-Ra simultaneously together. I was never that much a fan of He-man but I did have the action figurine. I think I once nicked my cousin figurine when mine broke. If any guys are reading this, what made you watch He-Man?
Jem and the Holograms
Glamour, glitter, fashion and fame, once you’re a Jem girl you never the same. I use to bloody love this show. I was seriously obsessed – I’m still am. As a young child I wanted pink hair and pink earrings. I would sing the songs and read the comics. I read in an interview once that Pink was heavily influence by Jem and the Holograms. I think any girls growing up in the 80s was influenced by this cartoon, it was outrages.
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
I didn’t watch this till middle school but I’m sure you are all familiar with this show. This was the first time we got to see Will Smith before he was the big movie stars we know today. At a young age I didn’t quite get the humor but it still made me laugh and I would love looking at all the fashion.
So those were my tops 4 nostalgic show on Netlfix. Let me know if you will be watching any of them.

I’ve never watched any of these shows but they sound like fun. I’ll check them out.
I didn’t know Fresh Prince was on Netflix!!!!! That’s awesome! I need to go look that up!
I really wish they would put Boy Meets World on there! That’s my favorite!
Haha – this was such a blast from the past. I loved she-ra and he-man growing up. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
The only one I’ve seen is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and it’s not on US Netflix. Though no longer on Netflix, I remember watching the Rugrats movies for nostalgia not too long ago – that took me back. 🙂
Jem and the Holograms was one of my favorites!
Used to watch He-Man with my brothers and who doesn’t love the Fresh Prince. The episode where Will meets his birth father only to watch him abandon him a second time is so heartbreaking and the one that stays with me the most.
Watchis series or movies will alwaysDefinietely be the best palan ever! I prefer just eat and watch tv
Wowwww!! You totally took me back to my childhood. I watched every one of those when I was a kid. Now you got me thinking about watching She-Ra with my daughter. I wonder if she’ll like it? We’ll just have to try and see. 😉 Thanks for the trip down memory lane! 🙂
I think out of those, the only one I’ve seen was Fresh Prince. I’ve loved being able to rematch Gilmore Girls and Friends, and of course, while it’s a “new” show, it’s a return of the classic show, “Fuller House.” 🙂
Oh my gosh! I LOVED Jem and the Holograms! Yay for classic shows!!
Wow, I love this roundup, so fun. I love Fresh Prince but have never seen the others, I may have to check them out when I’m bored.
I loved the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and yes,, now that I know it is on Netflix, I will take a peek and indulge in the series. He-man would be fun to expose my nephews to. Thanks for sharign this.
OMG Anna, I love this!
I also noticed that Netflix had added all these amazing cartoons from back in the day.
These kids these days don’t know what they’re missing.
I’m totally one for streaming animated shows on Netflix while working from home. Some of my favourites are, Legend of Korra, Troll Hunters and Volton (the new one).
Happy Netflixing,
Nadalie, It’s All You Boo

I liked my little pony and my brother loved he-man. Oh and Pound Puppies, loved that too. We didn’t really get any snow this winter except for once. I love netflix binges anyway hah.
I wish they’d show Clarissa from Nickelodeon!
Are you America? I don’t think I can check out all the shows you listed. But I am getting Fresh Prince 🙂
Oh my gosh I just got SO excited reading this post when I saw Fresh Prince on here! Went straight to Netflix to look … but it isn’t on there for US users. I’ll have to keep watching for it to pop up though – maybe it will soon.

Oh my goodness, those first 3 I remember watching with my brothers as a kid. I’m not sure we have them on Netflix in Australia but I’m definitely going to have a look!!!! I have been watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air and of course Full House!!!
I only ever watched Fresh Prince, but my husband remembers the He-Ra and She-Ra! He says those came out before I came along. I loved watching friends though! 🙂
Is it really bad I’ve never actually watched the full series of Fresh Prince? It’s on my to-watch list now – after I’ve finished watching Lovesick, my new favourite on Netflix haha !x
never watched any of this but when i showed it to my hubby, he knew it all!! lol! very intersting!
I’ve only ever watched Fresh Prince which I love! I’ll have to check the others out!
I am SO happy Fresh Prince is now on Netflix! It’s one of my favorite shows from my youth and it still holds up today (humor and issues, wise). Can’t wait to start from the beginning!

The Fresh Prince!!! Oh man, that show was fun. I can still “rap” the theme song I think…..
unique choice of nostalgic shows. only know about He-man
Netflix is such an addiction … I love all these shows actually and absolutely you are right.these r also very nostalgic
I have never watched the other shows but they sound pretty interesting. But I always loved He-Man and the masters of the universe…such lovely memories attached to it. We actually named our neighbour’s kid He-Man…Lol
Those definitely bring back memories. I remember these shows being a huge hit back in the day! It’s good to see them on netflix.
Awesome shows! Totally nostalgic. Happy to know that He-Man is on Netflix! Will have a look on these shows for sure! Thanks Anna ?
Oh yea! My teenage son came to me the other day and told me he’d just watched the first episode of Fresh Prince, he loved it! I remember sitting there with my family tuning into the show when it first aired – way back in 1990! Loved all the rest of these cartoons too, they were a big part of my childhood. Had no idea they were all on Netflix! Awesome! 😀
Oh my God. I didn’t know Jem was on Netflix?!?! Now I just need Carebears, My Little Pony and Moomins and my childhood will be relived.
Great post! Definitely going to pass by, now that I know they also have “The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air”!!
Never heard of the three that you mentioned, but I never could get into Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I am not sure why, but always new the theme song.
I don’t know why, but I have never been a great fun of Netflix. I do like my black box which screens all the latest movies and shows 😀
Oh, man, I never watched the show, but for some reason I had a Jem doll growing up and she was weirdly sized so none of my Barbie clothes fit her. This is bringing back some memories…
I’m from Philippines and haven’t heard about this show but it really looks interesting for me.
I loved the Fresh Prince growing up and I still enjoy watching episodes. Carlton will forever be my fave!
I watched all of those as a child. They were some of my favorites. Mainly Fresh Prince. Never a dull moment with Will Smith!
