Gilda Green Alpine Print Swing Dress

Gilda Green Alpine Print Swing Dress

Have you ever seen a dress where you just have to have it? Nothing else matter but owning this dress? Well the Gilda Green Alpine Print Swing Dress from Lindy Bop was one such dress.

I’ve been having my eyes on it for so long – well a year to be exact. I saw this last year on the website but I was too late and it has sold out. So as you can imagine, how excited I was when this got restocked and became available again this year. This dress was going to be mine! It was going to be my – what I’m dabbing as ‘Christmas dress’. It’d be a dress I would wear on Christmas day and I’d be so festive and fabulous.

Lindy Bop dresses are a big favorite of my mine due to their swing dresses range which suit my rather small (but large if you get my meaning) apple figure. It hide the undesirable part while still give you that vintage glamour. This year I have gone rather Lindy Bop Mad!

Anyway I ordered the dress and here is me wearing the Gilda Green Alpine Print Swing Dress. Please excuse my awkward weird expression on my face, not sure what going on there.

The dress itself is as lovely in real life as it was on the website. When my husband saw this, he thought I looked a little too much like 1950s housewife. To be honest I agree with him. But that however didn’t stop me loving this. The skirt is full of swing and flare. I could quite happily go dancing in this. The bodice itself is a little tight and didn’t work well on my figure. Next time I wear this I might complement this with a belt. I also like how the skirt have a pocket. I’m a big fan of pocket skirt.

If you are lucky enough to catch the Gilda Green Alpine Print Swing Dress next year before its get sold out again – then you won’t be disappointed. There is off course, if you can’t wait – Ebay.

I think it’s a cute print! I agree about the 50’s housewife comment, but I love that style of clothing and the whole pin-up era, so this is right up my alley. I look forward to checking out more items from this company. 🙂

What a fun dress for the holidays! Ya it can come off a bit 1950’s homemaker, but it’s cute to heck so who cares! 🙂 I’m glad you were finally able to purchase one for yourself!

It’s so nice to see you wearing something that you love. It definitely has a “Christmas” feel to it. I don’t know if that’s my Swiss background talking or if I just love the little chalets dancing around the bottom….It is very cute indeed!

I’m happy you found your dress. I think you are spot on about the belt. Also a nice little peep toe platform pump might make it a little less 50’s housewife and a little more vintage contemporary flare.
